July 2010 Update

Dear Global Legacy Friends,

A few years ago, the Bethel church body chose to fast from negativity for a period of time.  I was reminded of that season and how sometimes it can be difficult to refrain from an activity, a certain food, or a mindset.  However, in fasting from negativity, we were gearing up for a greater reality; feasting on encouragement!  Encouragement is a weapon that we have all been taught to wield.  It looks somewhat like this: speaking God's promises in order to encourage our inner man and those around us, smiling, laughing, enjoying someone else's company, declaring your appreciation for the life and the beauty around you, telling someone that you love them.  Encouragement looks like you and it looks like me.  Mostly, encouragement looks like Jesus.  The Oxford American Dictionary states that to encourage is "to raise confidence to point where one dares to do what is difficult."  We are meant to be positive instigators in this world, to inspire confidence in others (and ourselves) to the point where we dare to live out the dreams of the King and His Kingdom.  Who are you willling to bring courage and encouragement to today?

BETHEL SCHOOL OF SUPERNATURAL EVANGELISM

This particular August school is unique in that it will allow you to participate in our annual Back to School Backpack Giveaway – an event that focuses on outreach to youth and families in our community. SCHOOL OF THE PROPHETS

Schools of the Prophets have deep roots in biblical history. In the Old Testament, the Prophet Samuel started a school for the purpose of training young prophets. Elisha succeeded Samuel as the head of the school. Bethel School of the Prophets is not a prophecy class. It is a school for those who are called to the Office of Prophet/Prophetess and those leaders who oversee this office. The goal of this one-week, intensive training is to help facilitate prophetic ministry in local churches and ministries. Our goal is to help to develop prophets and prophetesses who can effectively work with five-fold leadership teams to see the history of their cities rewritten.  For more information or to register, please visit the Bethel website.
